The real theme of Jab Tak Hai Jaan was not revealed in the promos. It’s not new but presented in an innovative way. Well, the screenplay has made it a very interesting film. Yash Chopra’s magical touch is clearly visible. Such dramatized sequences would have been difficult to believe in absence of SRK and the director Yash Chopra. Things change, actors change but what doesn’t change is the eternal Yash Chopra brand of romance.
The home work done by the actors reflects in their performances. The film has good shock value. Another twist. What is going to happen now? A long and articulated monologue by Shah Rukh Khan shows his grip on romantic scenes.
Late Yash Chopra’s last film leaves the audience with a happy heart. RIP Yash Chopra. JTHJ marks the return of the ideal old world romance. The film is engaging. Shah Rukh Khan finds his form, Anushka is good and Katrina has done better than before. The camera captures the scenic beauty of Kashmir and Ladakh. Songs and background score are satisfactory. JTHJ slightly slows down in the second half but it remains an entertaining film till the last shot. Yash Chopra’s authority over JTHJ is visible. It has all the ingredients of a masala entertainer. Don’t look for a very cerebral film and you will end up liking JTHJ. It is a very good watch this weekend. Recommended.
